Model provider terms

How third-party AI providers fit into CodeMorph, whose terms apply to which data, and your responsibilities when you connect one.

Last updated 11. Oktober 2026

Beta draft, pending legal review. This document describes how CodeMorph works today in plain language. It will be reviewed by counsel before general availability. This page is available in English only. The English version is the one that applies.

CodeMorph's conversion and Ask features use an AI model from a provider you choose and connect with your own credentials. This page explains how that relationship works. It supplements our terms of use, privacy policy and data use pages.

The short version

  • You hold the account with the model provider. CodeMorph does not.
  • Requests go directly from the CodeMorph app on your machine to that provider.
  • The provider's terms, usage policies and data handling govern those requests.
  • CodeMorph never sees, stores or resells the content of those requests.

Supported providers

ProviderHow it connectsWhose terms apply
AnthropicYour Anthropic API key, stored in the editor's secret storageYour agreement with Anthropic, including their usage policies
Ollama (coming soon)A local Ollama server on your machineThe license of each model you download and run

The provider is set with codemorph.ai.provider and the model with codemorph.ai.model or the model picker in the Morph panel. See Settings and API keys.

What is sent to the provider

When you convert files or ask Morph a question, the request can include:

  • The source of the file being converted and of the typed files it imports.
  • Compiler diagnostics from repair attempts.
  • Your instruction or question, and relevant context from the dependency graph and migration history.

Scanning, planning, review and verification never send anything to a provider.

Your responsibilities

When you connect a provider, you are responsible for:

  1. Having the right to send the code. Only send code you own or are authorized to share with a third-party service. If your employer or client restricts this, use a provider and account they approve, or a local model.
  2. Following the provider's policies. Anthropic's usage policies apply to every request made with your key.
  3. Choosing the right data terms. Providers offer different retention and training terms for different account types. If your code is sensitive, use an account whose terms meet your requirements.
  4. Paying for usage. Model usage is billed by the provider to your account. CodeMorph does not mark up or resell usage.
  5. Protecting your key. Treat your API key like a password. CodeMorph stores it in secret storage, never in settings files or logs.

What CodeMorph is responsible for

  • Sending requests only when you trigger conversion or Ask.
  • Sending them directly to the provider you configured, over an encrypted connection.
  • Storing your key securely on your device and never transmitting it anywhere except to that provider.
  • Being clear, on this site and in the changelog, about any change to how requests are made.

Output

Output the model produces for you, such as converted files, is yours, subject to the provider's terms. Models can make mistakes; CodeMorph's review and Verify steps exist so you can check every change before you rely on it.

Changes

If we add providers or change how requests are made, we'll update this page and note it in the changelog.
