Glossary
The terms used across CodeMorph and its docs, defined in one place.
The terms used across CodeMorph and its docs, in alphabetical order.
A
Accept / Reject
The two decisions on every converted file. Accept keeps the TypeScript; Reject restores the original JavaScript.
Ask
The Morph tab for questions about your code and the changes Morph made.
Asset
A non-code import target, such as a CSS or JSON file. Classified so it isn't mistaken for a missing file.
B
Baseline
The number of type errors your JavaScript has before migration, measured with tsc --checkJs.
Batch
A group of about ten files converted and reviewed together. Batches follow dependency order.
Bring your own key (BYOK)
Using your own model provider account and API key, so usage is billed to you directly.
Built-in
A Node.js core module such as fs or node:path.
C
Cycle
Files that import each other, directly or indirectly. Always migrated together.
D
Dependency graph
The map of which files import which, built by Scan & Plan.
E
Edge
One import relationship in the dependency graph, from an importing file to its target.
L
Leaf module
A file that imports nothing else from your project. Migrated first.
Leaf-first
Migrating in dependency order, so each file is typed against imports that are already TypeScript.
M
Morph
CodeMorph's built-in agent, in the panel on the right.
N
Needs review
A file that couldn't be typed cleanly within its repair attempts, left for you with its diagnostics.
O
Open VSX
The open extension registry CodeMorph uses.
P
Plan
The ordered list of batches produced by Scan & Plan.
R
Repair loop
Sending compiler diagnostics back to the model for another attempt, a bounded number of times.
Restricted Mode
The editor's mode for untrusted folders. The CodeMorph engine doesn't run there.
Run & Verify
Running the typecheck, test suite and build across the whole project.
S
Scan & Plan
Reading the project, building the dependency graph and computing the batch plan.
Strict mode
TypeScript's strict compiler option, which enables a set of stricter checks.
Strongly connected component (SCC)
The graph-theory name for a cycle group. Found with Tarjan's algorithm.
U
Unresolved import
An import that couldn't be resolved, recorded with a reason.
V
Verified
All three checks pass: zero type errors, a passing test suite and a successful build.
